Lights in the City

In order to boost local tourism, the city of Jerusalem often sponsers special events.  For a couple of weeks every year one such event is Lights in the City, where their are special light desplays throught the old city of Jerusalem.

 

I went with my young adults Bible study the other night for the last night of Lights in the City to hand out leaflets with scripture printed on it.  It was interesting because it is the first time I've experienced people coming back and giving the paper back to me.  This was because the name of God was printed on the paper.  According to Judeasim as practised today you cannot throw something with the name of God on it into the regular trash.  It has to be taken to a special location and buried.
