Up, up, and away

It is quiet here at Ben Gurian Airport. I have finally made it to my gate, although it is still half an hour until my flight starts boarding. Leaving Israel is an interesting process. I have generally found it is more difficult to leave than it is to arrive. Before you get to the bag drop they give you a very thorough security check. I was asked by two different people how long I had been in Israel, what I was doing here. Who I knew here, and so on. Once I passed that check, my checked luggage was scanned then opened and gone through. (At least this time they did not take everything out.) Finally I could take my bag to the Easy Jet bag drop and then I had to go though regular security and passport control. An hour later I finally made it to boarding gates. I had been lucky going through security and for some unknown reason the one security guard pulled me out of the line and moved me through ahead of everyone else. Of course, they then had to go through my carry on bags...
Now I am sitting here tired since it is almost 8PM looking forward to a night of travels. I will arrive in London just after midnight. I then have to take a train to Kings Cross Station and get a 6:30 train that will take me north. I will then have about a week and a half visiting my sister. I will be glad for the holidays, but I'm not looking forward to the night with little sleep...
