Languages...

My flat mate is Mexican.  She laughingly told me this-morning about an incident with another co-worker who is Peruvian.  Since the two of them are the only people here at CFI who come from Spanish speaking countries whenever they are talking between just the two of them, they speak Spanish of course.  Chio (from Peru) told Patty (my flat mate) to wear tennis shoes to work today, because what they were going to be doing afterword together would probably involve a long walk.  The only problem is, Spanish apparently varies as much from one country to another as English.  The Peruvian word for tennis shoes is the Mexican word for high heals...

It is always fun working with people of other nationalities.  It certainly widens ones perspective on the world.
