The Nation of Israel: past vs present
It was always interesting to me to look at the maps in the back of my Bible to see where the Biblical locations were. The tricky thing was though, there would be a different map for each different time period. Now, there isn't really a problem with this, but here I am in Israel today, and what if I want to know where Gilgal or Nain is in the land I'm living in? I can't go to one of the ancient maps an identify where the location is today. So I decided as part of my preparation work for the Wall of Prayer project. Besides my curiosity this map can also be quite relevant to everything that is going on in the Middle East. For example, what is the significance of the West Bank and why does Israel claim it? I'm hoping that my map will help to answer questions like that by someone being able to go to a city and view not only where the ancient city falls in the modern country, but also all the Biblical references to the city.
