Update
As for my personal
experience, I probably would have slept through the alarm, since I was already
asleep when it went off, except for the fact that Sara panicked and was calling
for me. This is the first time Sara has
been here when the alarm went off so she
did not know how to handle things. We
went out to the stairwell and waited with our neighbors for the alarm to go
off. The little boy (he might be seven
or eight years old) was quite panicked about being taken from bed for the air
raid. It didn't help of course when we
heard the impact of the two rockets which hit outside Jerusalem. In cities like Sderot the alarm sounds almost
daily, unlike cities further north, although we might be in for the increase in
alarms since Hamas's missal range has just increased. After the alarm went off, we headed back
inside and made sure our bomb shelter kit was ready to go if the alarm went off
again. Fortunately it never did…
